Eggs. They take a minute to make but a lifetime to master. Poaching an egg is notoriously one of the hardest techniques to master (you know, next to open heart surgery and nuclear fusion). So how do you poach an egg? It takes patience.
Bring about two quarts of water to a simmer before adding two teaspoons of white vinegar and one teaspoon of kosher salt. Next comes the fun part.
Create a little whirlpool in your pot by gently stirring the water. Crack an egg into the center of the whirlpool. The swirling water will keep the egg whites from spreading out. Cover the pot and set a timer for exactly five minutes before scooping that sucker out and serving it fresh!
