Eating a balanced breakfast helps us up our energy since our body uses a lot of energy for growth and repair through the night. What the body uses during the night is mainly protein and calcium so it’s a good idea to eat food that’s full of proteins and to have a glass of milk or a dairy product in the morning.
Some research shows that skipping breakfast can actually lead to obesity. People who made breakfast the largest meal of the day were more likely to have lower body mass index than those who did not have breakfast at all or ate larger lunch or dinner.
Scientists also say that breakfast is key to jumpstarting our metabolism. Another research shows that skipping breakfast disrupts the circadian rhythms. Skipping breakfast has been associated with an increased risk of heart disease and higher risk of type 2 diabetes.
These are all good reasons to enjoy that large breakfast. But, what’s also important is what we actually eat for breakfast. So, what’s good breakfast food?
High protein breakfasts help reduce food cravings during the day, so that’s a really good thing. Cereals are a favorite when it comes to breakfast. It’s been found that cereals contain more than ¾ of the recommended daily intake, but if we’re going to eat sugary foods it’s best to eat it in the morning.
As we already mentioned we need to boost our energy with breakfast and we’ll do that by eating food rich in protein and calcium.
